Wisdom from ‘Yesterdays’ People’ – More on Children

Many adults lie, deep seated, within the mind of a child, and as the mother nurses the child, so the child nurses the adults within.  But those who love the child, so often see it only as a child, and will neglect the adults which are emerging.

We present a certain face to the world and are recognised by it; and we change that face from time to time as surely as the shifting winds mould the sand of the desert.  A child too is many faced, for it is full-ripe with the promise of potential.  It will be what it feels is best for the situations that surround it.  Growing up is survival of the mind, and as the mind demands, so will the personality comply, for the personality is secondary to the inner self.
