The Wisdom of Yesterdays’ People – Taking of Life Without Regret – The Dog and the Locust

Would you take a life of another without regret? Would you strike a tree from the landscape without reason? If our answer is that to do otherwise would be destruction, then why do we destroy at every hand? We take life at our pleasure, and for the furtherance of profit without realising that we are building up a debt that far outweighs any foolish gain we may make.

Shall we kill the dog that guards the gate merely because he let the locust to the grain? These are patterns of life that I talk about, and each pattern is entitled to existence without needless interference. Think upon these words, and if you love the living, then love all that is living. Afford it protection as you are given protection, for you are of the earth and all that is earthly. You are of life, and all that lives.
